Where are you located?
We are centrally located at the intersection of Clybourn, Diversey, Damen near the Lincoln Park, Roscoe Village, and Bucktown neighborhoods. Ample free street parking is readily available. We are also right down the street from Costco if you plan to run errands during your child’s session. Click here for a map.
What does therapy look like?
During treatment, we give children in our practice the support they need. We help them understand why they are struggling, validate their feelings, and give each child a new set of skills and tools to triumph over challenges. The ultimate goal of treatment is to empower our clients to no longer need therapy. Over the course of treatment, they will develop the ability to translate the skills taught in session into their daily lives. As progress is made toward their goals, therapy appointments will decrease in frequency and we will work towards a completion session. It is not uncommon for clients or parents of clients to remain in contact with their therapist through phone calls or emails even after therapy has completed. This communication is often important for ensuring continued success and is offered at no additional fee. Additionally, it is not uncommon for clients to come back several months later for a ‘check in’ session once therapy has completed.
How do I choose a therapist?
Choosing the right pediatric therapist for your child is important and one that can be difficult to navigate. We invite you to contact us to discuss our approach in order to help you make the best decision. At your first visit we’ll discuss the right course of treatment and timeframe you can expect for successful completion. This is a collaborative effort between parents and IFC specialists. We want you to know we consider this an important step to building your trust and confidence in us.
What are your appointment hours?
The hours vary for each therapist, but generally extend from 1:30 – 9:00 pm Tuesday through Friday, with availability on Saturdays from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.
What are your fees/payment?
Our rate varies depending on your insurance provider and copay amount. We accept cash, check, and most major credit cards.
What is your cancellation policy?
IFC requires 24-hour notice to cancel a session without charge. Without such notice you will be charged for all missed appointments.
Do you accept health insurance?
We accept most major insurance plans. IFC’s administrative team will check your benefits, request authorizations, and submit claims on your behalf. Please contact us to find out your health plan’s coverage.
How long is each session?
Sessions are typically 45-50 minutes.
What is your confidentiality policy?
IFC exercises the highest degree of confidentiality and privacy in the performance of our clinical work. Although we are happy to do so at your request, we will not discuss your treatment with outside clinicians or agencies unless we have your written consent. Use our Authorization to Release Information form as needed. IFC voice mailboxes are private and for our own exclusive use.
